Career OS™ Framework

Six substantive guides that mirror the Career OS™ wheel. Each chapter includes the principle, warning signs, common mistakes, an exercise, a client example, a related tool and a next-step CTA.

This guidebook documents the MOVE pathway — the six stages executed as an external market search. If you are aiming to progress inside your current organisation, read the Career OS™ PROPEL guidebook.

The MOVE journey

MOVE is the external progression route, worked in order: Diagnose, Position, Prove, Access, Convert, Negotiate — ending in the next role. Each stage produces something the market can act on rather than an activity to tick off.

One Career OS™. Two governed pathways. MOVE and PROPEL share the same discipline of diagnosis, positioning, evidence, execution and conversion, but use different tools because an external move and an internal promotion are different problems.

Career coaching for mid-career change

MOVE is the Career OS™ pathway for experienced professionals who have decided — or are seriously considering — a change of organisation, sector, specialism, role type or career direction. Experienced professionals often arrive at this point with substantial capability, but a career story that no longer matches where they want to go next.

Many search for a career coach for mid-career change. What usually resolves the problem is structure rather than encouragement: establishing whether the intended change is viable, defining a target the market recognises, translating transferable skills into evidence a hiring decision-maker can price, then running a deliberate job-search strategy, interview preparation and salary negotiation. Our guide on structured support for mid-career change works through each of those steps in detail.

That is what the six MOVE stages below do, in order: clarity and direction, career positioning, evidence and profile, search and networking, interview mastery, and offer negotiation. This is structured career consultancy delivered through Career OS™ — not generic life coaching, and not a CV rewrite sold as a career strategy.

MOVE or PROPEL?

MOVE is for changing role, employer, sector, specialism or career direction. PROPEL is for progressing — more responsibility, influence, visibility, promotion and reward — inside your current organisation and career context. Both run the same six Career OS™ stages; only the environment changes. The in-role pathway is documented in the PROPEL guidebook.
